Both these schools
were under-funded and over-subscribed. There were 150 children to a class, with
no qualified teachers. And no access to clean water.
The Foundation has built
and furnished a new classroom block, consisting of two classrooms at each
school.
We have improved sanitation and
enabled access to clean water through the provision of water-harvesting
tanks.
And teachers will shortly have
newly built accommodation alongside both schools.
These are all facilities we take for
granted in the UK. But these improvements are simply life-changing.
More importantly, these projects will
serve as a pilot with a view to replicating throughout Western
Uganda.
