Q. Where do you source your coffee?
A.
Kenya, Brazil, Costa Rica, Columbia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Uganda and Vietnam.
Q. What is your Fair Trade policy?
A.
Costa offers its very own blend of Fairtrade coffee. Customers can enjoy a Fairtrade coffee option on any of Costa's espresso based drinks at no extra cost. The Fairtrade blend has been created from six high quality fairly traded beans sourced by Costa from different origins to produce a well-balanced, smooth coffee with fragrant and delicate aromas.
Q. Why isn't all of your coffee Fair Trade?
A.
When Costa previously investigated this option, availability could not be guaranteed from all our current origins to produce the necessary qualities we use to manufacture our distinct Mocha Italia Espresso blend.
Q. How much do you pay for your coffee (compared to NY Commodity Traders, International Coffee exchanges)?
A.
Prices are negotiated versus market prices in London & NY/quantities required by Costa.
Q. What are the terms of contract with your suppliers and how long are the contracts?
A.
Terms are agreed with suppliers for price (sterling)/quantity (Metric Tonnes) and shipping periods only, no specific length. All comply with the London Coffee Trade Federation (or EU) standard Terms & Conditions.
